Ex: You are 40 kg and your friend is 75 kg. If both of you sit on see-saw definitely the see-saw will not be balance. Unless you sit further from the fulcrum or your friend sit closer to the fulcrum. Both of the ways show that effort distance should be further than the load distance.
Explaination: A large load can be overcome by using little effort if the effort distance is further than the load dustance. This can be done by reducing the effort distance (distance of effort from fulcrum). As such,the effort needed to overcome the load is decreased.
