There's actually many ways of starting an essay. You just have to stay in your comfort zone and not push yourself to be who you clearly are not. So, the ways to start an essay is:-
# A quote
# A short story of your own related to the topic
$ QUOTE This usually isn't the best way recommended to start off your essay because you basically have to know the quote truly to write it down. But if you do know one, and you think it's suitable, go ahead! It'll make your essay start off real dramatically.
$ STATISTICS This one here, you don't really have to memorize, but make sure you guess the near right number. This kind of start off will make your essay really bombastic and make you seem really knowledgeable.
$ SHORT STORY By short story, I mean like a REALLY short one. This is just introduction that we're talking about here. So, just introduce a funny or memorable experience of yours that relates to the topic. This kind of an introduction will attract the examiner to continue reading your essay.
$ QUESTIONS You might get confused, that's why I'm explaining here. For example, you can start off with "Have you ever heard of the popular news on aviation? The one on MH370? This was the very news that stated that the search for MH370 was the most biggest and most expensive search in aviation history," . This is the most common way to start off an essay.
P.S. I TOOK SO MUCH OF TIME TYPING THIS DOWN. YES, THIS IS MY OWN TIPS. FYI, I'M JUST FORM 4, SO THIS WAS JUST BASED ON MY EXPERIENCE. HOPE YOU NOW UNDERSTAND THE IMPORTANCE OF STARTING OFF AN ESSAY WITH A BANG! HAHA! GOOD LUCK IN YOUR FUTURE ENDEAVORS... :)
